Malik McFly was born and raised in the Bronx. Growing up in the birthplace of Hip Hop he was exposed to the culture. In 2003 he moved to Suffolk County, Long Island. Around the age of 13/14 he started writing poetry. Malik found a love for expressing his emotions through writing. It was then he knew he was meant for something greater. At the age of 15 he began recording and writing his own music. “Through the years it’s been an up and down battle. At one point I even considered giving up on music but the passion for writing and the craft never left. Now 23 years old, I’m focused and more driven then ever. With the release current mixtape The Definition of Me I just plan to grow. I have a story I want to share with the world. “I create to innovate”” says Malik.
