Brooklyn based singer songwriter Danielle Parente has created a unique sound that combines sultry vocals, hauntingly soulful melodies, ambient textures and carefully crafted lyrics. Her latest single and video, “Very Last Breath” from her new album Dark Eyes set to be released on 9/18/15, is a divine effort. Influenced by artists such as Sade, Sia, Lauryn Hill, Bjork, Radiohead, Fiona Apple and Imogen Heap, her music crosses over several genres, offering listeners hints of electronic, soul, blues and jazz.

After studying Fine Arts in Upstate New York, she switched gears and moved to Manhattan to attend the Institute of Audio Research, where she studied audio engineering and production. She began writing and pre-producing her original songs, and continues to develop as an artist by collaborating with other talented artists and producers and performing with her band in some of New York’s finest live music venues.

The genre bending collaboration, “Very Last Breath,” between Danielle and producer/djs Prince Fox and Choppa Dunks has electronic, trip hop and soul influences mixed with samples of Danielle’s voice giving it its signature sound. For the new music video, Danielle has taken this same mind bending approach and created a visual that jumps between the color spectrum. They say that the visual medium is all about light, and whether it be Daniell performing in a black and white scene, or vibrant neon lights playing with the viewer’s eye in the darkness, this clip runs the gamut. The creative use of glow in the dark body paint ties it all together, creating a clip that is melodically mesmerizing.
