Yemi Marie thrilled thousands of kids and adults alike at back-to-back WNBA Chicago Sky games on May 21 and May 24.
The talented teen singer and songwriter performed with dancers at half time when the Chicago Sky played the Connecticut Sun at the Sky’s “School Day” promotion before more than 4,000 attendees. The Sky beat the Sun 78 to 68.
On May 24, Yemi Marie performed at half time during the Sky’s “Faith and Family Day” when the women’s basketball team played the Atlanta Dream at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont. The Chicago Sky won again, beating Atlanta 87 to 73.
At each game, Yemi Marie sang her new hit, “Love Bop,” which features Chicago rapper DLow. She also performed Pharrell Williams’s universally popular hit “Happy“ and her own incredible rearranged take on “Hero.” She was met with enthusiastic applause and cheers from the kids in the audience. At her booth in the Allstate Arena concourse after the games, Yemi Marie signed autographs and gave away CDs, wristbands and her special hair bows, symbolic of her personal youthful style.
