L Jay is a Brooklyn, NY native. Influenced by Jay Z, Biggie Smalls, Talib Kweli and LL Cool J, he started rapping at the age of 13, developing and honing his skills. With witty lines, and a cocky attitude, L Jay developed into his own, and his music is often upbeat and exciting, because in his words, “nobody wants to listen to that sob story shit all the time”.
