Yakubu Mohammed a.k.a Mr. Yaks is an award winning Entertainer, an accomplished actor, producer and musician. He was born in the late seventies in Bauchi, Nigeria and grew up in Jos and later moved to Kano. With a diploma in Mass Communication and degree in Mass Communication and English, Yakubu has dented his mark on the entertainment scene in Northern Nigeria,as well as being a renowned award winning Kannywood actor, creative writer, model and GLObacom ambassador.

Yakubu has released over 7 commercially acclaimed albums in Northern Nigeria and he is the most decorated contemporary Hausa singer. He has featured in over 35 blockbuster hausa movies taking up lead roles.

He was also once a NESCAFE Beverage ambassador (2001 -2005) and currently a GLObacom ambassador.
